San Diego Asian Film Festival 2013

Taiwan Film Showcase

臺灣有個好萊塢

For the second year, the San Diego Asian Film Festival is proud to team up with UCSD to present a Taiwan Film Showcase on the first weekend of the festival. After a successful, sold-out first year, we’re moving the showcase to UCSD’s Price Center Theater to cater to demand. We present International, North American, and US premieres of some of the most exciting new and classic work from Taiwan, featuring films from luminaries like Hou Hsiao-hsien to new talents like Arvin Chen and Shen Ko-shang.

We’ll also be welcoming Toyoharu Kitamura, co-director and actor of FOREVER LOVE, which will be followed by a Q&A discussion and free reception for ticket holders.

All screenings are free for UCSD students, faculty, and staff; free for Pac-Arts members; and only $9 for general admission. Tickets are on sale now.

The Showcase is co-presented by the UCSD Chuan Lyu Endowed Chair for Taiwan Studies and the UCSD Taiwan Studies Lecture Series, with additional sponsorship from the Taiwan Ministry of Culture and the Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.
