Finishing college can be a scary, confusing time. And for three irresponsible and particularly confused boys, college just got a lot more complicated. One day, their old friend Kaka (Sandrine Pinna) unexpectedly returns home after studying abroad and brings with her an unexpected delivery: a baby! Now the boys must get their act together to help her care for the child without anybody finding out about their new, crying roommate – especially the grumpy landlord.

Director Jim Wang (Cha Cha for Twins, SDAFF ’12) knows that three helpless men attempting to take care of a baby will always be funny. But what sets WE ARE FAMILY apart are the strong relationships formed throughout the film by the female lead. Simultaneously the strong-willed mother, the attentive and caring granddaughter, the flirtatious college sweetheart, and the hilarious no-nonsense friend, Sandrine Pinna (Touch of the Light) is the linchpin that keeps this sweet comedy turning in the right direction. Pinna makes it easy to understand why foolish boys would go to such lengths to help her. And foolish they are. Amid getting caught up in gambling debts and possible cult activity, they join forces to change their lifestyles before everything they know comes crashing down. –James Paguyo
