These two documentaries take another angle on assimilation altogether, considering the strange, even glittery possibilities of performing culture in an America of white celebrity and multi-cultural audiences. In two very different video modes, these shorts explore the uncanny ways Vietnamese see themselves in America, and vice-versa.
